Artificial Intelligence on the console?

Abstract

This article analyzes the impacts of artificial intelligence on intelligence activity, arguing that its incorporation expands technical capabilities, alters the regime of problems faced, and imposes organizational changes. Based on the classic typology of puzzles and mysteries, it proposes the category of "hangman" problems, characterized by an adversarial environment, the presence of deliberately denied data, active manipulation of signals, and time pressure for decision-making. It argues that uncertainty is now strategically produced. Thus, denied data and intelligence operations regain centrality as forces for validation, knowledge production, and guaranteeing decisional freedom. It concludes that artificial intelligence reconfigures the activity not only in its means but also in its epistemological and organizational dynamics.
