Abstract

This article examines the impacts of observable trends in the contemporary international order on the Brazilian intelligence system. Given the complex developments that jeopardize national security and the human security of Brazilian citizens, its objective is to identify paths and suggest initiatives that can improve the methods currently employed in the production of state intelligence in Brazil. The article emphasizes the need to build a network of institutions that combine efforts to identify and assess trends. The use of prospective scenarios is suggested as a tool, given that this option has the advantage of fostering dialogue between actors within SISBIN and other civil society organizations, fostering a dynamic that contributes to strengthening dialogue and democratic institutions.
