DIVERSITY AND ACTIVE LISTENING IN INTELLIGENCE AGENCIES

Diversity is a topic of central importance for Intelligence Agencies, since divergences originated by individual differences can lead to new perspectives for the organization's objectives and expand the ability to respond to challenges of real importance in a world of increasing complexity and constant change. More diverse work environments, mediated by technology and provided with an enormous volume of data, however, raise anxiety and, consequently, hinder the need for active listening. In Intelligence Agencies, where communication processes are constant and decisive for organizational success, indeed, they become strategic to protect the work environment and the coexistence of heterogeneous thoughts and the ability to listen reflexively. This article aims to demonstrate the importance of combining the concepts of diversity and active listening in the context of Intelligence Activity and in public and private areas for the construction of more efficient organizational environments in the processing of information and creative in composing prospective scenarios.
